Kapoho Palms ships all
its plants by Federal Express as we
have found them to provide the best combination of price and service. We
usually ship orders from Hawaii on Monday through Wednesday so they will
be delivered to mainland addresses during the latter part of the week. We
are pleased to try to accommodate requests for specific delivery dates if
available (and possible).
Because we ship by
FedEx, we must have a delivery address for your order and not a P.O. box.
Ideally, this should be a location where there will be someone to receive
your plants. This is important to help ensure that your plants won't be
left in the hot sun on your doorstep while you're out or at work all day.
FedEx requires a signature at delivery unless you ask that we waive this.
Without a signature, neither we nor FedEx can take responsibility for
your box after it is dropped off at your address, so we do not recommend
this option.
The exact cost of
shipping is the question we are most frequently asked and the one we find
most difficult to answer. The total shipping cost for any order really
depends upon the size of the plants included. Usually we figure that the
total cost for packing and FedEx is about an extra 25% on top of the cost
of the plants. However, for large plants that number can be as high as
30-40% and it can be as low as 15% for a large order of smaller plants.
We ask that you include an extra 25% over the cost of your plants for
packing and shipping and we will bill you (or credit you) for any
difference. Our packing charge is from $5 to $10 per box depending on the
size of the order.
Kapoho Palms is fully
certified to ship plants to all 50 states. However, now that shipments to
Arizona and California require a separate inspection, we must regrettably
charge an inspection fee of $25 per shipment. Shipments to Arizona also
now require a phytosanitary certificate, for which there is an additional
charge of $25.
Please inquire for
details of international shipping options and permit requirements.
